Who the fuck bought these? I forgot they existed. They are the epitome of shitty mid-aughts domestic luxury. Those were the days - nothing says Bush-era class like a badge engineering and a four speed transmission!

Oh look, a Lincoln F-150.

At least it's not a Blackwood.

The owner of my dealership owned one until he sold it to the guy who runs the tree service that rents one of our offices.
They look good in white, and only white.

Ah weird Lincoln trucks... don't forget the Blackwood...
And award for most awkward truck name goes to....

There is a bunch here in Albuquerque (trucks are everywhere here). The same people that bought Esclade EXTs it seems.

One of my neighbours has one in that colour. He also has a Jag XJS as a project.

Yes I know, I'm commenting on my own comment but... I NEED THAT LICENSE PLATE!

I know they were weirdly popular in Mexico, but other than that, I have no explanation for why someone north of the border would have purchased one, let alone why anyone would still be driving it in 2015.

I never really considered the name lol. Never though about it once. Now it's all I'll be able to think about when someone mentions it.
Blackwood.
Black. Wood. Blackwood. BLACKWOOD.
Who passed this along in marketing as a good idea?

A kid who works at the local Dairy Queen drives a Blackwood. I asked him 'why?'.
"I wanted a nice truck and it was cheap".
So, um, I guess that's the kind of person?

My favorite parts was that the high trim level F150s actually had better interiors and more options for something like 10K less.

CAH was in charge of naming it.

Makes sense - if you desire a gaudy pickup that's designed to never go off road your options are limited

They were made up until 2014 in Mexico!

Hey, buying a used one these days is a cheap way to get a top of the line F-150. They're probably cheaper even than an F-150 of the same vintage and you get luxury accoutrements. I actually like them.

if you can stand the idea of buying a pickup for pickup reasons and staring at Lincoln badges all day, power to you

Fun fact, The LTs taillights were an homage to the Wagon Queen Family Truckster.
Probably not.

I'm not quite sure how these are worse then GMC Sierra Denali's or the Cadillac Escalade EXT (Avalanche, which was a mess even as a chevy lol)
![]() 01/16/2015 at 15:48 |

I will cop to liking the Avalanche in a perverse way.

Hahahaha.
To me this Lincoln truck was fine, because it was basically a Sierra Denali. Dressed up Chevy or dressed up Ford.
That blackwood was fugly though, I'm not playing games with that one.
another not well known Lincoln:
Lincoln Aviator, built off the Explorer.

My ex girlfriend's grandfather had one. Kind of liked it too. Am only just noticing how it looks like a town car front clip just stretched a little bit.

Haha, I could see that.
